My financial-literacy work takes place through organizations that know and serve their communities. Their wider work matters. The class pages describe my contribution within that setting.
I taught an in-person class through SAHARA in June 2026 and want to build on that work through further lessons and more useful materials. SAHARA’s programs include education and practical support for underserved communities. I work through SAHARA rather than on my own because it already has the trust, the room, and the follow-up that a class needs to be useful.
In October 2025, I taught an online financial-literacy class through Zaila Collection for Syrian refugee women in Turkey, with Arabic interpretation. Zaila’s wider mission includes supporting women facing adversity through its nonprofit fashion work and related programs.
My financial-literacy work has also included Ikram Foundation. The dated class archive on this site currently focuses on the SAHARA and Zaila sessions.
Related volunteering
In July 2026, I volunteered with the Creative and Performing Arts Center (CAPAC) in Prince William County, Virginia, helping distribute financial-literacy books as part of the approximately $1,900 book contribution connected to my work with Arts for All Initiative.
Event dates: July 6–17, 2026. CAPAC and Arts for All Initiative are separate organizations. This contribution is recorded once on this site and is not part of the class totals.
